SANTA ROSA BEACH, Florida — Check it out! I made it to an ocean, i.e. the Gulf of Mexico. After more than 4,000 miles of driving, I joined my family at the beach in Florida. They normally go in September when I’m covering football, but this time I get to enjoy the beaches and the golf courses of the Florida panhandle. Played golf with my dad and brother-in-law today. It wasn’t my best round, but it wasn’t my worst either. It reminded me of a Mitch Hedberg joke about his death metal band Injured. People either loved them or hated them or thought they were ok.
